Today marks 50 years since the death of Judy Garland. .
From a childhood performing vaudeville, Garland attained international stardom as an actress in both musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist, and on the concert stage. She is often best remembered for her role as Dorothy Gale in 'The Wizard of Oz' (1939).
