One of the gymnasts was struggling to move her skill up to the high beam bc of fear.... I’ve been there plenty of times and let me tell ya, it’s the worst!! She couldn’t do it on day 1 and on day 2 she put her fears aside and was able to muster up the courage to move it up AND NAILED IT! • I was so proud of her- not because she made it on high beam, but because she figured out how to get herself in a place mentally where she felt comfortable doing it! THAT’S what we teach at #BQBC. We encourage and support our athletes to take ownership of their gymnastics. In this moment, the gymnast took ownership, applied what she had learning, and accomplished her goal of moving to the high beam. My face is a reflection of her excitement and my fulfillment in that moment! If you’ve never done gymnastics, it’s hard to explain the feeling of getting a new skill for the first time.
