The real horror of the inhumanity at the border in these detention camps is not to keep soap, food or sleep from the children but for this administration to wish them harm and even death!

@lokipr_rn HOLD UP! - You are a poor daughter of “Latin” (your term) immigrants who came here legally but you don’t want others to have the same opportunities as you do ? You are a stellar attribute to America! trump said he wanted people from Norway- So roll your eyes back into the front of you head like a grown up. Now, I absolutely see a I got mine but screw all of the others seeking legal immigration/ asylum like my family did in your statements. It is even worse.. So curious-why didn’t your family “stay in Mexico”? Why didn’t your family stay in its country of origin? Why didn’t you go to Mexico? Why did your family need to come all the to America? Why is your family special? Here you are, the poor immigrants daughter who only wants Indian and Nigerian physicians? That laughable & make zero sense. Why? The poor immigrants stopped with your family? The sign was removed from the Statue of Liberty? This is a nation of poor immigrants from all over the world. That poor young father wanted to come here for the same reason your family migrated here. To give his precious daughter & family a better life. He didn’t want to stay in Mexico just like your family didn’t want to stay in your country of origin- he wanted to come here! You’d think you’d be angrier with the Orange POS sitting in his Human Trafficking Cartel Mansion at his golf course getting rich of the deaths and misery of innocent children seeking LEGAL asylum in desperation. $700 per day, per child of my tax dollars, I’d rather set them up at Disneyland. It would be cheaper to stay at trump hotel in DC. Your outrage is misplaced. The 50 years ago statement is inaccurate. The US has completely used and abused the entire region since forever. You have nothing more to add IMO. You are not credible in any way shape or form in my eyes. You can have your opinion but it’s absolutely heartless considering your origins. BTW- What year did they come here? What POTUS administration? Mine came here fleeing Hitler from Italy during WWII they were the lucky few Jews who got through legally. SMDH .. wow.

@heyjudejedi my family migrate to Puerto Rico from Canaria Islands in the early 1800 for business purposes. My great great granfather was Spanish/Portuguese and his wife Moroccan. Puerto Rico was still territory of Spain until 1898 when the US took over, reason why Puerto Ricans were granted American citizenship. My mother is mostly native American of Taino background. What does that have to do with the current topic. All you are looking is for boo hoo pity me. Actually, there is a video circulating around of these 3 old gentlemens who were jewish and were child prisoners in Nazi consentration camps and are reacting to AOC comments on the migrant situation where she compares it to the Holocaust. You should watch it. You are obviously a young emotional girl that is clueless about immigration laws. Nobody is denying assylum to anyone and Im all for taking in refugees but there is a process and it takes about two months to go theough. This dad was already in the process but did not want to wait even tho he was safe living with his parents and had a job. At this point it was his ambition and imptience who backfired on him. And if you dont see that, that's your problem. Yea immigrants came in the 1700 and 1800s yada yada yada but this is a different time and a different situation in a new country with different laws. Adios.

@heyjudejedi well actually my family is Spaniard and Portugese on my father side and they settled in Puerto Rico which was Spain territory at the time. Since you asked. But yes do your research. The media is using this family for propaganda. He had a job at Papa Johns and lived with his parents, they had applied for asylum but did not want to wait the two months the proccess takes so he decided to leave with the girl against his family's advice. His parents were interviewed in Univision and that is what they said. Also, he was approved for a work visa in Mexico and many people I know from those countries say that they are encouraged to come to the US because they get free stuff. Is not bad in Mexico actually, have many friends there. If this guy maybe tried to learn a trade while his asylum application processed he would have been alive and perhaps made a good life here in the US.

@heyjudejedi oh yea very reliable source ? money laundering is happening everywhere. Look around at all those strip malls that were built but never occupied? What do you think that is? Money laundering has been happening even in big famous hotels and apartment complexes because the cartels buy those spaces under falce names and "companies" and the owner of those hotels and properties don't even verify who they are selling to. So you gonna blame Trump for someone buying a Trump property as if he is the one handling all his accounting?

@mdgarciab you do know that this been happening since Bill Clinton administration? But no one open their mouths when that happened, but once President Trump got elected y'all create an uproar.. also I'm gonna add another thing, why would a parent risk the child's life to come to the US? Especially illegally.... do you also know those people are kidnapping children to enter the US illegally as well. Don't blame the president and republicans.. blame the country that they are fleeing from and the adult who are bringing them here.

People are upset because of the picture. I don’t like it either, but it is supposed to make everyone uncomfortable, so we can stop covering our eyes and turning our heads away. It is supposed to make us stand up for what is right, so we can have less of these images. The baby and her father represent what is going on in our country, they were here before us, and yet they make it hard for them to cross the border, or get papers. so yes it is government fault.
