whipcreamiest @thegenuinekb I’d love to answer your question if it made more sense. The only crossers I know are seeking asylum and have family with whom they can stay while they await court trial. Some are escaping certain death or a lifetime of violence. I do not consider a human being illegal, as I believe in their lives just as much As I believe in your right to life. If you’d like to reframe your question and talk about how we can use our tax dollars to help them AND veterans AND seniors AND the hungry AND the homeless, i believe it can all be done. Helping one group does not mean taking away from another. Human life doesn’t have a pecking order. Again- happy fourth. Im sure you have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Also, I’m sure if we were face to face we’d have good conversation. We obviously have a different view on the border crisis. And yes, I’d happily take in a migrant. My great grandmother was taken in when she came to the US, penniless, in search of work. That, to me, is an American value.

hikingfanaz Close them? Your solution is to throw them out on the street? How many families have you taken in? I have taken in 3 different (seeking asylum) families for a night (they were waiting to be sent to their family in the US). These illegals are breaking a Federal Law and they know it. There are climbing a wall to get in these camps. They KNOW if they don’t want to be there, they can just stay on the other side of the boarder. A HUGE amount of illegal immigrants know they will be separated from their children. While they wait for their parents The people over the camps call family member on both sides of the boarder to see who will take the kids while there parents are in “jail”. Most likely the family on the US side will take them (that was the plan from the beginning for the illegal immigrants). So many of the kids came across with non family members (children trafficking). This crisis is why we need a secure boarder!!

douglasfregoe A morning show on NPR said yesterday that certain "for profit"companies get paid $785.00 PER DAY for a non-resident child. That's mostly profit when you consider they are put in warehouses. It's like a animal shelter system...same quality, just less love.
