First, I am really wondering what's the intention behind this photo? I am not sure that those women would be posing like that it is very strange... I just imagine few seconds if you had take the same picture with a group of priestess (WHO I totally love and respect) oberserving the Seine River in France.. what would be the comments the reactions the toughts... Most of the people would had known that this not representative of France no? So the same for Istanbul?!? Probably Not.. I hope that you had also the chance to take picture of all the women dressed liked in Europe, but you are right if you had posted those one you would not attracted so many people and my comment...Really I am just wondering about your intention, because as a French and Turkish citizen I am fighter for freedom equality fraternity all over the World..

Not: Bana lütfen "dostum" diye hitap etmeyin. Cevap hakkımı kullandığımı bundan sonra hiçbir polemiğe dahil olmayacağımı altını çizerek belirtirim. Bilgilerinize

@catalism sorry but reality is different. I am in Germany in the last years and the news here do not reflect the total colors of Turkey, they prefer to make news about only the “black” / negative sides, like with this post. And the result is a “black/negative” reputation of my beautiful country. And this is true for almost everyone, photographers, engineers, academic people, .. only a small group of people (around %5 but definitely not more than %10) know the Turkey well. Anyway, from my point of it is a pity of @leica_camera to share this post. Thank you for your comments, wish you a nice day

Turkey has a secular constitution since 1923. That means state doesn’t have a religion, well yes since 2002 Turkey is experiencing a conservative political period, so wearing hijab is optional. But people from other countries WRONGLY ASSUME that Turkey is like Arabic countries. That means, a lot of tattooed hipsters or fashionistas walking around just like in any European city!
The numbers are so large, there are now 3.58 million Syrian refugees in Turkey and counting. They say “A picture paints a thousand words”. So this image doesn’t show the real Istanbul/Turkey! ??

@catalism I am from Turkey and I am a Turkish citizen. Right now I live in Germany and before I lived in Russia for a couple of years. Besides that I lived in Turkey more than 30 years and all my relatives are living in Turkey. The point here is, people in Europe or in other countries mostly have negative wrong opinions about my beautiful country and people. And in this account, when @leica_camera presents Istanbul to its 1.1 million followers all over the world; this post only helps people to stuck with wrong opinions about Turkey & Turkish people.

Calm down people, it’s just a photo. There is no claim. Leica is not a tourist guide company, they are not representing any country for any reason, these are just candid shots. And yes believe it or not it is taken in Istanbul. What do you expect, the photographer shouldn’t have taken the photo because it doesn’t represent the country?! Come on, grow up guys... A photographer shoots whatever he/she sees. No one care who these women are and where it is shot. It’s just the photo that counts... Until you make a mess out of it. Pathetic...
