I speak a different language than many of you. I eat different foods. This month I celebrate #ImmigrantHeritageMonth because my grandparents were immigrants, and brought their traditions and culture with them. And I'm alive because they were brave enough, and able, to immigrate to America to escape oppression. That’s my bubbie on the far right in Hungary before the war ❤️ Share your story and #CelebrateImmigrants!

There are two kinds of immigrants one is Legal and other is Illegal, American should refuse illegal immigrants. This is not 1700s or 1800s , I being a Legal immigrant myself I know how hard I worked to come here. I have seen the people who are trying to illegally migrate to contries from my country. They are really bad people in our societies as well, majority of them, they have history of doing various illegal things before, there are not afraid to enter a country illegally. we should remember values in 1800s are not valid for modern times. People can work online, can do many other things to improve them. I know it is many times hard than in US, but why fighting for illegal immigrants? If We can focus on native american rights instead that would be really good, they are the people who have being marginalized and mistreated years and years and at present too.

I live in Australia because my parents were brave enough to travel alone in their teens from Greece all the way to Melbourne Australia. They met here, married and made a life that has been full and very happy. Australia is also a country of immigrants from all over the world. I am proud of my culture and l speak 2 languages other than English. On a holiday to NYC l visited Ellis Island and the immigration museum. I found it very interesting and moving. I #celebrateimmigrants

I have no idea where one of my grandmas came from, she was adopted and back then when you adopted a baby you didn't know anything about their background she did have the opportunity to find out who she was and where she came from later on in her life but she didn't want to I can't blame her or hold anything against her because I don't know how she felt about it

I was just about to comment that you really resemble the woman on the far right, and then I read your caption that she was your bubbie! I also thought you shared a resemblance to the younger girl in white sitting in the middle of the picture. Wonderful photo! @missmayim

Love these old pictures. My grandparents were from Europe also. I would make my Gramma tell me stories of when she lived there and never stopped asking her questions. I probably drove her nuts but she always answered my never ending questions.
