milan_mdna Camp is basically kitsch and kitsch is an insult for art and certainly not something of museum value. (I am an art historian, but everyone knows what kitsch is) The American writer Susan Sontag's essay "Notes on 'Camp'" (1964) emphasized its key elements as: artifice, frivolity, naïve middle-class pretentiousness, and 'shocking' excess. If something like kitsch should be in a museum along with works of real VALUE than... Only in America... I am not talking about Florine Stettheimer.
