Skateboarding legend and 10-time #XGames gold medalist Tony Hawk landed his first 900 at X Games in 1999. Just a few years later, BMX legend and two-time X Games gold medalist Mat Hoffman stepped up to the plate and landed his first no-handed 900 at @X Games in 2002. Both incredible tricks, both firsts for each sport, but who did it better? You choose. Let us know your thoughts in the comments! (And remember, there’s no wrong answer here.)

They were both awesome moments to witness. And as a long time (and sometimes still) BMX rider I'd love to say Hoffman because he definitely pushed the limits of vert in his day in the same way as Hawk, but the 900 on a skateboard was ultimately more impressive and anticipated by the Xgames community as a whole.

I don’t think I could choose simply because they are both icons in extreme sports and both those 900’s were iconic and completely inspirational to so many. Didn’t matter if you liked 2 wheels or 4 or had never even been on either. So awesome to see from two of the greatest technical athletes of all time.

Both were gnarly asf back then when 900's were game changers. Nowadays it's commonplace and expected. Matt's no hander 900 is still pretty rare and wins it for me. Travis Pastrana's double backflip in 2011 should have had a mention as well ;)

Classic and special X Games moments, but I will have to vote for Mat, because at the time he was by far the best in bmx, with Tony was more like who was going to do it first like possibly Tas Pappas

Matt Hoffman all the way. Matt landed his way before Tony and this one was no handed. On a skateboard you can bail easier than on a bike. On a bike you’re screwed if you crash.

Both historical moments. Tony's 900 was amazing due to blind landing. And Matt's was amazing because if I remember correctly his bike had no brakes.?????
