the girl is beautiful, but don’t get me wrong, we are all aware that she doesn’t represent Ariel’s character physically. i get that this is all politics and has to do a lot with the anti-racist message in America (I am not American, and in my country there are not problems of that kind). but mixing politics into the cartoons? changing something that exists for decades because of the political influence? i am sorry but I don’t get that ? you could’ve made more black princesses back in the days, or even now, but not change the old ones that already have their story written. hate that politics has to be in everything ?

If you have any knowledge about literacy and culture representation, you would not use the stupid argument of: now Pocahontas is gonna be a white girl or Mulan is gonna be a redhead....those characters are tied to a culture, to a time in history, unlike Ariel who is a mythical creature and with no cultural background that can be portraid in any form or color. Disney's animated version is a white redhead, yes, but have you seen another "little mermaid" like that? .

I don't care as long as she gets red hair. You know, in the animation series there was a black mermaid and she was deaf. So it's not wrong to assume Ariel could have been black. I still prefer to think that as written in the original, she was white, and the Ariel that I know is white. But disney do what disney does.

Y’all sound dumb... Mulan has to be Chinese because the movie is based off of Chinese cultures. The little mermaid is girl who can sing and has a tail ??♀️?. Lets not forget the only reason she was that white before is because they didn’t allow POC to be Disney princesses until 2009. Now have a blessed day ?

Little mermaid setting: Denmark, 1840s: population mostly white. So why is it racist that we what the live action to match the original movie. There are so many movies black ppl can be cast in. I’m totally for it. We shouldn’t hold back acting jobs Bc of color. But like Tiana is a whole opportunity.

Funny to see adults getting mad. The children who watch cartoons are not even complaining but some grown ups are here saying their childhood has been ruined. If you don't like the idea of the remake, then don't watch. This just shows that hate comes from the adults
