Australia has a decent system where school is essentially covered by a loan from the government. You are not required to pay the loan unless/until you are making a competitive salary. I am hopeful that America will be able to catch up to Australia in this regard. That being said, I understand those who may feel left out because they worked hard to pay off their school loans. Especially those who had to work two or three jobs to do it and it was quite a struggle. Almost everyone I know who successfully paid down their student loans are in this category. It doesn’t feel fair to them and it’s an understandable reaction. And I know that many may suggest that ‘if you can’t afford school then don’t go’. But that’s not realistic. Education needs to be accessible to those with the desire and ability. Having a university level education is becoming (has become) a necessity for individuals to find meaningful and decent paying careers. It doesn’t make sense to create a life long burden of debt with unscrupulous companies buying and selling your debt and jacking up interest so that your buried under a mountain for the rest of your life. It’s a racket and it’s time for it to change.

Paying off my loan myself currently and as soon as possible to reduce the interest paid in long run. Even if everyone has theirs canceled, like right after I paid mine off?, I know that it would still be a great thing for the people of this county and for posterity. But just out of curiosity has rembursment been considered too for those who've just paying down interest or making payments on the loan capital, idk, for a decade and really struggled. Wallstreet speculation tax would be a paradigm shift, and to remove the burden of payment would be grand enough. And at least making the payments gives good credit.

What other candidates are you seeing that are putting a educated black woman other than themselves to talk about the issues and how “they” are going to fix America? Don’t worry I’ll wait to hear you say Bernie Sanders! Bernie understands this can’t be him alone that is going to be able to fix our problems it will be up to all of us working together with him to even the odds! Not about him it’s about US! Let’s Go!! #feelingthebern

Dumb. What about the people who paid for school as they were going through it. I took thousands away from my wife and kid so that I wouldn’t burden them with student debt later trying to be responsible. This is ridiculous and rewards irresponsibility. That’s why you don’t win Mr.Sanders, your populist views are faulty. Own up to your debt!

I love Bernie and support most of his views- but this one I DO NOT! I worked my butt off and paid for my education and it taught me a lot about life and saving and deciding what was important to me. If you just cancel everyone’s debt- the people that made bad decisions and didn’t work and save like I did just get a free ride?!

Who doesn’t want to live in a healthy and educated society! This would be such a relief and would take the handcuffs off our young people. The result would only enhance society. If parents didn’t have to worry about saving for college their retirement would be brighter.
