Because hardly any women artists had access to nude models, a number of them became still life specialists—including Margareta Haverman, whose magnificent arrangement of flowers and fruit in "A Vase of Flowers" features innovative pigments such as Prussian blue. 🌸🍇🍐🌺

By the 1890s women were allowed to sculpt and draw men who only wore loincloths (this was in art school, of course). I know bc my paternal grandfather photographed such classes at the Art Institute of Chicago.
