shoug.a.s Your music is valued by those people in Saudi Arabia, however my feminist-self cannot resist to keep quite. Performing in the Saudi Arabia’s concert supports the oppression against Saudi women and LGBTQs as women won’t be able to attend your concert without a guardian’s permit and LGBTQs won’t be able to attend your concert at all while stating they’re from the LGBTQ community. Being a Saudi woman, I can speak more clearly about women experiences inside the kingdom. Women can’t issue their own official documents or travel without a guardian approval and gays can’t say they’re gays otherwise they will be put in jail. There is also no freedom of expression. Women can be beaten by their guardians and the Saudi law stands with male guardians against women stating no punishment. Saudi women who manage to flee the country are chased, returned back or threatened. Your decision of not performing in the concert and saying it out loud will shed light on the lack of basic human rights in Saudi Arabia. We kindly ask you to follow the lead of Nicki Minaj and cancel your concert, not because we do not want you to perform, but because we want you to be the echo to our voices, when our voices cannot be heard.
