My question is how long do we have until to we can not recover from global climate change ?
Are you a where of Xylecto company and founder, CEOMarshall Medoff. They have successfully made disposable plastic, gas for automobiles, and sugar that will not rot your teeth. All out of plants. 60 minutes did episode on them called the “unlikely inventor Marshall Medoff story”. Products testing was so good ;the CEO of Exxon corporation put himself on board of directors of this company. Game changer might want to get friends talking about it.
Last thing are you aware of lawsuit against our government on climate control. It called Juliana vs US. The plaintiffs are kids from age range 11 to 21. The lawyers have 600 documents proving the government know fossils fuel would cause climate change since LBJ was president. Government doing everything that to dismiss case. Evidence to strong against them. Do think it will make it to trial?.

Hi, I have two questions. First, in Europe plastic bags are being used less and less. Instead people opt for brown paper bags. Now I recently read several articles that discourage the use of paper too. Of course I try to use my reusable bags as often as possible and if I get a paper bag I reuse it too. Still I wonder which option (Plastik or paper) is the better one now? Second, I have been wondering about all those new bamboo products (toothbrush etc.). Supposedly they are a lot more eco friendly, still among other things I am wondering about the amounts of fossil fuels that are being burned when those are shipped half around the world. Are they really that much more eco-friendly then ‘traditional’ products or do those just look better due to good marketing.

I’m a High school Debate coach and a topic we tackled this year was “We regret the narrative that personal action is key to addressing climate change.” Basically the big corporations pollute more than the individual and using our metal straws is just a tiny drop in the bucket and our individual action makes us feel like we are doing “enough”.The students and I who are all environmental advocates were pretty ticked as we read about what industry does. So while we will still do our individual good our question is, how do we put the squeeze on industrial pollution and waste when the machine of industry is not listening to the people? Thoughts?

My partner and I are both vegan and reduce waste and plastic use whenever possible to help the environment. We both care deeply about how our actions will impact the planet and are happy to explain our actions to others if they ask. I find it very frustrating when friends and family don’t seem to care about how their choices effect the environment and refuse to make any changes because they don’t like change or think it’s inconvenient. How can I convince them to make small changes in their daily life that will actually make a difference?

Is it possible to undo the damage that we have done to the earth already? With these sustainable measures that are now being put into place (and people seemingly giving a shit now) I can’t help but think we are putting a bandaid on a massive problem that we humans created and it seems impossible to reverse. Maybe that’s just me having an existential crisis and thinking that my (non existent) children/grandchildren will be living on a dying garbage rock.

From your perspective, does algae have a place in sustainability? I work in the industry and I hear about using algae for bioplastics that degrade into fish food, carbon sequestration, and alternatives to animal feedstock that lead to less emissions. Am I in an industry bubble where these topics are played up or are we actually seeing these technologies coming to fruition in the US?
