Having watched JAWS last night Ollie considers the ocean off Block Island.

shadowagent001 Sharks are pretty much everywhere except the swimming pool or lake lol. Ahhhhhh childhood memories of block island. I have to say my craziest ocean experience was in Newport, RI at Fort Adams. Down on the rocks searching for shells getting hit by sudden waves. Grandmother comments "oh look a submarine." Yeah right grandma...oh whoa! I moved fast to higher ground.

rosecottage52 Bad movie to watch going to the beach. We’ve had shark sightings in NC close to shore and a girl was bitten at Myrtle Beach this year. Rip tides are dangerous also. Watch for warning flags. ??

jnorthup11 I'm a Rhode Islander and I can honestly say I've only been on Block Island twice. Once I don't really remember...and once I'll never forget! Enjoy it out there.

shonna_rhein Too right, kiddo! I’m still traumatized by that movie and I saw it in the theatre the year it came out! Sharks are jerks. No Scooby snacks for them!
