Every player put on the most incredible show, said soccer star Megan Rapinoe after leading the US #worldcup team to a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands. @ミーガン・ラピノー used her post-win press conference to demand equal pay. The players of the women's team earn less money than their male counterparts on the men's team. In March, 28 members of the #USWNT sued the US Soccer Federation alleging wage discrimination. "At this moment of tremendous pride for America, the sad equation remains all too clear, and Americans won't stand for it anymore. These athletes generate more revenue and garner higher TV ratings but get paid less simply because they are women," said Molly Levinson, spokeswoman for the USWNT players in their equal pay lawsuit.

The problem here is that the women's world cup barely generates the views and revenue than the men's world cup. The sponsorships, FIFA marketing and fan base is where the money is generated. Comparing both world cups (2018, 2019) just in the US there was way more traffic of information for the men's world cup (despite the US men's team not qualifying). I would like for the women's game to get more recognition, but why all of a sudden care about equal pay when the average American barely watches their domestic leagues. If some MLS teams struggle to get enough people to watch the games, the NWSL struggles way more. People need to stop complaining about equal pay when these "fans" only seem to care about the women's game every 4 years during a world cup. I want the women to get a higher pay, because let's be honest, the men's team isn't worth sh*t. But the sponsorships, FIFA marketing, fan base, and worldwide views generate the men's higher salaries. So the solution to this gender gap is to get more people to watch the sport here and abroad and make it entertaining to watch. The more views the women's team gets, the higher their salaries will get. It's basic economics.

This is common sense. The women generate way less revenue than the men, so how do you expect equal pay. You get paid from what you generate! I went to the FINAL GAME OF THE 2018 WNBA PLAYOFFS. I repeat, FINAL GAME OF THE 2018 WNBA PLAYOFFS in Virgina. Small arena, almost half of the seats were empty. I was wondering why it looked like that so I decided to ask a few ladies. Their response was that they don't give a s*** about women playing basketball.... but they watch men (NBA). So how can you grow female sports when a lot of women don't even watch themselves play talk less of men. I was shocked. With that mentality you can't get buzz, and with no buzz attention lacks, and with no attention and attendance your not going to generate sufficient money to support this equal pay request. So where is Fifa going to pay you from?

So men make more due to the league in which they play in. Men play in several leagues before they reach a world cup that come with a level of world attraction and thus a free market salary cap. It's not the US team that sets the salaries, it's the overall sport around the world for that specific league. If women played in those foreign and domestic gold cup leagues they would not only attract world attraction, but also world leagues salary caps that evolve through constant world stage appearances and performances. And regardless we as a country have our selves to blame for making soccer as a whole, a secondary class sport! Literally stealing the name to throw a football instead of kick it as the world as done for a mellinia! Yup we last!

People need to realise that players get paid by clubs, not countries. Countries do pay but less than the clubs. When women’s club football brings in the same amount of viewers as men’s club football then they will be paid the same amount due to peaked interest leading higher tv deals leading to richer owners. People don’t realise that playing for their country is more about pride and duty than getting paid.

Last year, the men’s World Cup in Russia generated more than $6 billion in revenue; the participating teams shared about $400 million. That is less than 7 percent of overall revenue. Meanwhile, the 2019 Women’s World Cup made somewhere in the region of $131 million, doling out $30 million, well more than 20 percent of collected revenue, to the participating teams. It seems a pay gap does exist, after all.

Lets say there is 2 different parents both with a kid of their own. One has 100 dollars and the other has 20 dollars. They each decide to give their kid half of it. So one would get 50 while the other gets 10. Should the second child demand the same amount of money as the other kid? Should money just pop out of no where? Or should they be thankful for the dang 10 dollars they got?
