@iamkristindavis just watched show. #loveislove♥️. You are a beautiful mommy, you’re children are blessed. One thing #confusing for me with “all” different race adoptions. So to you I ask it, hope you reply. Why did you adopt out of your race? With as difficult as it is on the children, I don’t understand the reason behind adopting another race other than your own, I’m sure there are babies for everyone to adopt in their own race making life easier on the children of adoption. I just don’t understand why you’d want to make life “more difficult” for a child in this already more difficult world. I applaud your selfless love, just curious why you and so many celebrities adopt out of their own race. So curious. BTW you are so beautiful, you never have aged a day since SATC. ??

Oh my goodness - I was so so moved by today’s episode. As a black mother of three interracial kids, the struggle is real - I am deemed the nanny, maid etc. We are all trying to figure it out! We don’t always know the absolute right thing to say but I believe that if it comes from the heart, that’s half the battle. Your hard search for schools I can absolutely believe as I live in LA too. That’s why I chose Culver City and my kid’s friends reflect the beautiful fabric of this County. Continue to speak up when the ignorant make comments that they have no idea stings. Not everyone is a racist, but bias shows up in some interesting forms. Thank you for adopting your beautiful black babies. You have given much more thought to parenthood than most parents.??

@dflayn teaching a child about their history doesn’t happen in ONE conversation, especially not when they are younger and their comprehension is still in development. She answered appropriately by saying that she teaches her children age-appropriate things about their culture. OBVIOUSLY when they get a little bit older to an age where they can process certain information, THEN she can have an open discussion with them. Your comments are completely off base and it seems like you are only looking for specific things to pick at in the interview. She STATES several times in the idea her white privilege and what she has had to go through seeing her children encounter implicit bias. Maybe try another angle, it might help you understand a bit.

If by some miracle you read this post, I just want you to know that I appreciate everything you said on the red table show. As a black female who had black parents but was raised in white neighborhoods and white schools - I never felt like I belonged. So just because you have black parents doesn’t mean they help you overcome issues of race and racism. Sure my parents helped, but they didn’t understand because they did not go to the same types of schools that my brother and I did. Congratulations on your beautiful family. If you ever want advice from a stranger yes, but someone who understands what you’re kids may be going through feel free to DM me. All the best! Jodi

@iamkristindavis thank you for this! I am also a sole parent ( white Australian) of a bi-racial(Nigerian) boy. As well as having no clue about what life is like for a male, I struggle with trying to make sure my son is exposed to his heritage and roots. I know I can never understand, no matter how many people’s “shoes” I try to walk in. I’ve learned to ignore the stares and judgement but will always worry about racism and prejudice . My son experienced racism already at 3 years old at preschool so I know we have a long, hard road ahead. Thank you for sharing ?

@iamkristindavis Thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing how a white human can go deep with the invitation to understand privilege and racism—to be transformed—by loving a black child. I see how it has utterly undone me and shaped me into more of the person I am supposed to be by loving my daughter and seeing the world through her eyes. I loved your points about preparing them for the realities mixed with the tenderness of their young innocence. It’s such a hard tight rope to walk. You are light!
