With the U.S. women’s national soccer taking the 2019 Women’s World Cup, Nike is also winning.✔️
Nike CEO Mark Parker said last month that the USA women’s home jersey, in the midst of the tournament, had already become the top-selling soccer jersey, for both men and women, ever sold on Nike’s website in one season.
After this latest Team USA win, jersey sales are surging. Nike said they're up 200% compared with the last tournament held 4 years ago.
Nike could use the boost from the World Cup win, as it’s been trying to sell more to women overall but has faced some backlash for its treatment of its female employees and sponsored athletes.

Women get paid a higher percent of revenue than men. ? 2015 Women’s World Cup brought in almost $73 million, of which the players got 13%. 2010 men’s World Cup in South Africa made almost $4 billion, of which 9% went to the players.
