Wondering how you can be of service to solving the absolute abomination that are the current administration’s immigration policies? @ali_dineen turned me onto this amazing group of individuals who have been visiting detained asylum seekers twice a month at Eloy Detention Center in southern Arizona and are hoping to raise money to better be able to provide the LGBTQ members that they visit with funds for commissary, the ability to make phone calls to their families, and support for emergency housing, food, transportation, and medical needs once they are [hopefully] released from detention as well as while they are waiting in northern Mexico to be allowed to enter the US. Many of the people end up being detained while fighting their asylum claims for three months up to many years. Half if not more of the funds will go directly to #DiversidadSinFronteras to support their work as well. katiaalcantwood This is great. Something that has been bothering me deeply, and I want to help. I’m willing to do pro bono immigration work but that area is not my wheelhouse. I did found a company that can help immigrants. We instantly connect them with a network of available lawyers that we rallied and are willing to get immigrants started in the application process for low, flat rates.
