I’m excited to help launch the first ever all-electric @Mini. ⚡️ As we all know, electric vehicles are a crucial step towards transitioning to a carbon neutral world. 🌍 They’ll also help make our cities greener, cleaner and quieter. 🌱 My first car was a little red Mini. 🚗 I saved up all my money to buy it and my god did I love that car. It’s exciting to see this brand pioneering the way for a cleaner future! #ChargedWithPassion #MINI #MINIElectric

There is so much negativity in this comment section. Jack is clearly well educated on environmental issues and I’m sure he knows that the manufacturing of electric cars isn’t perfect, but it’s so much better than driving petrol and diesel cars! Some people will always drive and find it easier (public transport links are not great everywhere) so giving a more eco-friendly alternative is a great step. We need lots of people being imperfect environmentalists, not a small group of people doing it perfectly! These kind of comments shunning someone for promoting a cleaner option because it has some faults are so frustrating because it gives environmentalists a bad name. People won’t make ANY changes to their daily lives if environmentalists act stuck up because they will be made to feel as though they are not doing enough!

@murraysnaps oh really? Then how did Stanley manage to power his vehicle with only water? They even have it all on the news where he demonstrates exactly how the water fuel works and even shows the car running on pure h20. You do know that they already have brought the powered water running car concept in Japan and India right? So why not here? And how strange was it that Stanley died right before he was ready to bring out this life changing creation, but like always the media puts lies for people like you to be against it and think it’s impossible when it’s not.

Advertising cars and environmentalism is a bit of a dodgy mix if you ask me. Electric vehicles are NOT the answer to climate change. The mining for battery metals, embedded manufacturing emissions and extra electricity generating capacity we will need if we all bought minis will cause more environmental destruction. Liveable car-free cities, better public transport, more cycle lanes and pedestrian spaces for walking are the solution. But I guess they don’t offer attractive #Ad fees. ??????

@clememeltzheim Some people just need cars to travel as public transport links are not fantastic everywhere! I know that manufacturing these cars will have an environmental impact, but manufacturing practically anything has an impact, too. Jack has already been promoting using public transport a lot, and it’s fair to give other alternatives. Considering the fact that many people love driving and won’t give it up, having a cleaner alternative is a great start.

@nicholasrobin78 totally understand that, but especially if you live in rural areas cars can be the only option. I agree that inner city transport should be better and suburbs and city centres/CBDs should be more connected, but a lot of people will drive anyway as they think it’s more convenient (some people also dislike public transport) so giving a better option, even if it isn’t perfect, is a step closer to getting rid of petrol/diesel cars completely

@nicholasrobin78 I think people know that the manufacturing process is not good for the environment, but in some places transport links really aren’t great and aren’t always being improved. Many people will always drive and having an alternative that is better means that overall there will be less emissions. In the foreseeable future cars will continue to be a part of our lives so we may as well try and make them as eco-friendly as possible
