I was thinking of all the things my mother used to say when I was little that I now say to my kids.

“Mom, are you sleeping?”
“No, I’m just resting my eyes!”

I also have adopted, “Maybe later” “Let me think about it” and “I don’t remember saying you could stop massaging my feet.” 🥴😉🤣

There are so many Mom-isms I now say that are just so good. Who knew? What are your favorite “Mom” things to say?

kgehrett We always sing, “You don’t always get what you want...” and, “if you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?” Said in an obnoxious accent. Also, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.”

hconetta12 “If you keep crying I’m going to give you something to cry about” & when my kids don’t listen to me warning them & they immediately get hurt doing exactly what I said NOT to do my response is always “God gotcha”.....both compliments of my fabulous mom! ??

jodilatza “We’ll see,” when I was asked if something that’s definitely NOT happening could happen. And my mom’s famous, under-her-breath threat, “Act like you know something!” when kids are acting like animals in public. ? She was the best. I miss her so much.

leilanicolon My mom would let us do her makeup and when She fell asleep we would wake her and say "mom you fell alseep" and she would say "no no, it's just that this eyeshadow is so heavy" and I remember being amazed at how heavy this powder was lol

bridgeandboys When they’re looking for something “use your eagle eyes!” And I can’t believe I do it but “Hi hungry, I’m mom” that’s one where you finally understand it once your kid has told you they’re hungry 37488588 times that day
