NASAさんのインスタグラム写真 - (NASAInstagram)「A total solar eclipse passed over parts of South America on July 2, 2019. Anticipating breathtaking views, Goddard photographer Rebecca Roth flew down to Chile on her own time, and now she's sharing her photos with us: My name is Rebecca Roth and I’m a photographer here at Goddard. I just got back from vacation in Chile, where I photographed the July 2 eclipse from the National Science Foundation’s (@nsfgov) Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (@cerrotololo). The observatory is located in the foothills of the Andes, 7,241 feet (2,200 meters) above sea level in the Coquimbo Region of northern Chile. This total solar eclipse is one of the most incredible things I’ve seen in my entire life. From high up on the mountains, I got to watch the eclipse progress across a cloudless, clear blue sky. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been in the middle of photographing something so stunning that I had to put my camera down to see it with my own eyes. Few photos are worth missing. I’ve already marked April 8, 2024, on my calendar — the next total solar eclipse in North America. Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing more of my eclipse pictures, so you can follow along as I process them. If you have any questions about how I took these images, leave them in the comments below!
