I can’t even begin to put into words all of the emotions I have right now. It’s been one heck of a journey Oklahoma! When I came here, I was 18 years old, bright eyed, and completely unaware of all the amazing things that would soon take place. I grew up in Oklahoma with an amazing bunch of people. The people here are what makes this place so special. From the fans, my coaches, my teammates, the entire Thunder organization, Mr. Bennett, Sam Presti, my friends, and everyone in the entire community. You are all what makes Oklahoma such a beautiful place, and the reason I’ve loved playing here all of this time. You have supported me through all of the ups and the downs, and stood by me through the good times, and tough times. For that I am eternally grateful to you. I’ve met so many amazing people who have helped shape me into the man that I am today. I hope I have impacted the Oklahoma community as much as Oklahoma has made an impact on me and my family.
I’m leaving Oklahoma with so many friends and so much gratitude. I could never thank you all enough for sticking with me. It’s been a dream and a whirlwind. #WHYNOT

You have no idea how proud we are to say that WE ❤️ you and your family. Our family gave your family our hearts, love and support because you have us everything you had every day. We are proud of you and thankful for all you guys have done for OKC and your fans that are no longer in OKC. Thank you for giving my son a positive role model to look up too in sports, on and off of the court. We will always support you in all of your endeavors. We are also grateful that we drove the 13 hours to bring our son to your camp last summer. Meeting you was a dream come true for him. We just wish we would have been able to be there this summer. Well said Mr. Westbrook!! Thank you for giving it your all every time you stepped on the court! You have an amazing talent; skills so unique and special! Most players only dream of accomplishing all the incredible things you have done. You will be greatly missed sir! Words cannot express how much me and this city will miss you. The great thing is we all we get to follow the next chapter. I definitely will be watching because I know the greatness will continue. Every year for my birthday I got to an OKC Thunder game just to see you play and I have done that every year for the past 6 years of my life!! Your such a big impact of my life and I look up to you and how amazing of a player you are. I’m so sad that your leaving thunder but like god says everything happens for a reason and my goal in life is to meet you someday I just wanna say I’m real happy for you

Mr. Russ Westbrook thank u for helping put us on the map n keepin us there. 18 we watched u grow n u us, from n Oklahoman, if u just think about it. Ur right down the road,10-12 hrs away. U will be missed but #Whynot, let us watch ur journey n watch u grow I can't wait!( I just moved back from Houston not my choice ) but miss it everyday, there is no place I would rather see u, n watch u grow. ❤️
