Berlin is one of my favorite European cities. The history that this city has is always intriguing to me. Last time I was here I traveled the city on my bike and saw where the wall was, and the land marks along with it. The holocaust memorial is a somber reminder of what happened. My wife is half Jewish (my mother in law 100%) and my children are 1/4. So scary to think what could have happened to them those years ago.

mrs_gingerkat Grew up and lived in Germany most of my life, moved to Berlin 3 years ago. I remember when the wall fell... but it always seemed so far away. Now that I live here I still see and feel the wall in so many ways.. people telling their stories, architecture telling a story of a divided city. We have a difficult past without question. And that makes me love this city of today even more for being united in openness and love through history. We are proud to be diverse and will put all our strenghts into keeping that spirit alive. Not ever again should history repeat itself. No matter your race, religion, gender you are welcome here ❤️ Enjoy your stay.

One day, your kids will understand the statement that their parents made by exposing them to unfiltered history while allowing and encouraging them to be themselves: kids. I cannot believe that some people criticised @pink for letting them be kids around a place that celebrates history, life and preserves memory so that all sorts of phobias towards people can be exterminated. As an educator, I congratulate both of you for teaching your children how to live their truth. They will certainly become those students who have always transformed toxicity around school contexts into a safe space for everyone.

shadowsandhighlite Technically, she's not half Jewish. If your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish. Period. It makes your children Jewish in the eyes of Judaism. How we are raised is a completely different thing, entirely (I'm multicultural, with one faith. It's different in everyone's home.). Let's remember that if you were blonde and blue eyed, they didn't openly target you. To this day they don't believe Jews can be blonde. ? Half my family members are. There's SO much ignorance and hate, and anti-Semitism is at an all-time high. I'm glad you're teaching your children the history. ?

nicolien_winters @m_pierzchala me and my husband visited Poland just to see Auschwitz. It was shocking...it was so very quiet (not even a bird). The thing that made the biggest impression was that at the end of the trail in the camp, there was a monument. The monument was a bit higher than the rest. The guide told us that the ground was a bit higher because underneath the monument there were ashes from body’s that were cremated by Nazi’s. That, and so many other stories, I Will always remember. ?

Stand for what you believe in, fight for what is right, stand and speak for those who can’t. Leave this place better than you found it and just love yourself and this life kinda parents!!
