Most people called her Nma Chi but when we got older the Chi was taken out and we all started calling her “ Nma” which means beauty. Nma was the closest to us growing up as she spent more time with us. Danda spent a lot of time working to make money for the family and even while we were on holiday from boarding school, we’d spend the evening telling Nma school stories and like in most families, she was our courier for important messages for Danda. Nma calls Danda by his “first” name, Macaulay. Danda’s full name is Herbert Onyemalukaoha Igwe but friends call him Macaulay because of “Herbert Macaulay” Nma : Macaulay, Asi’m kwuo.
