Starting a non-profit is something very different for me and in many ways very uncomfortable. In my professional life, I started my own business, worked (still do) insane hours to prove myself and secure contracts, never turned down an opportunity to grow... But I wanted more... I had been so blessed with a gift and combined with the work ethic instilled in me from my parents, have a successful career that I truly enjoy... I wanted to give back in a meaningful way... asking for others support to ensure the success of the non-profit is very difficult for me.... if I wanted something - I worked for it.... I made it happen... but a non-profit has to be supported by donations.... sponsorships.... and that means asking for volunteers, sponsors, donations, and asking people to believe in the center.... I look at this photo and to me it couldn’t be more clear that this world needs more of what this photo represents.... it needs each of us to comfort and be comforted- to support and receive support.... to love and be loved!!! . When I see this gorgeous photo, I know we are heading in the right direction and those that support the center - aren’t supporting me- they are supporting the truth in this photo!!! .
