“Do you hear it?” Episode 9 “ Heroic” is now streaming on @Hulu Home of Emmy-winning. This is a very special episode to me, believe it or not probably the most challenging episode I’ve ever done on the show and I’ve been so looking forward to sharing it with you guys. It’s directed by the incomparable and brilliant @dainajreid ( who coincidentally was also just nominated for an Emmy for her work on episode 11 of season 2, “ Holly” so congratulations Daina!!! ) and she did it again with this one. Written by the stellar force that is @lynnreneemaxcy , it’s the story of a true heroine being born and how sometimes... a little crazy is exactly what you need, to do what no one else will do to save the world ❤️🌎❤️ @handmaidsonhulu #handmaidstale #heavenisaplaceonearth

If you cannot grasp the emotional depth of this ‘tale’ and think this story is unsatisfying or boring.. Try an action movie? Horror maybe? This show is psychological, philosophical, thought-provoking and groundbreaking. It is meant to get your adrenaline pumping by giving us close-ups of torrential grief, and by showing us what human suffering looks like in a thousand different ways. June’s despair was palpable. Did you see her red-rimmed crazy-eyes? I also have two little girls and could feel June’s agony for her daughters. The moment June’s hope was restored, that moment gave me life, too. Appreciate this story being broadcasted & celebrated in today’s world. Millions of women around the world TODAY are so vehemently oppressed that they are not even able to KNOW of this story, yet here we are complaining about the lack of fire & blood? GOD THE IRONY. Boring? Barbaric.
Go in grace.

I've heard others saying that it was slow.... Then I watched it last night. It touched me. What an episode. It is art in every aspect of the word. Congratulations for executing this... I woke up this morning still moved by it. I love this show. It turns what society is perceived as now completely on its head. I love the use of technology on the show. Seeing an ipad for example in a society that seems archaic is a beautiful juxtaposition... I'm very excited to see where it goes. We have so much more to learn about Gilead. Listening to the young teenager about being fertile was chilling... This show has so much more to give.... Just wish it was on all year round. :) Love it!

I loved how this episode used waiting for the baby to cover so many ideas: time passing so slowly and painfully; fragile grip on reality; who decides life or death or who is worth saving - we got to see Serena in a new way, Janine call out June, and a doctor who still tried to live by his oath. I loved him! And June, of course - struggling and then snapping out of it to figure out what her legacy will be. Slowing down an episode does not mean it is boring if you are watching for all of the amazing details!!!

Amazing episode! One of my favourites so far. It was an emotional experience and through your performance I could almost empathise the way June felt. (Although who could ever?) And what an amazing portrayal of emotions! I can tell how much you and the rest of the cast put into this season. Congratulations to you and the rest of the @handmaidsonhulu team on the Emmy nominations! Looking forward to what’s to come! ?

I had that song in my head all night after watching this episode. I just need to take a moment to tell you what an amazing actor you are. You literally have me at the edge of my seat the entire episodes. I cheer, I clap, I cry lol you legit touch every part of my emotions. And sometimes it's just all in ur facial expressions also. YOU'RE AMAZING TRULY AMAZING. Lots of love from ??

You said in an interview with CBS that you never do anything in the show that wasn't done already in real life somewhere in the world at sometime in history. I would love to see that information at the end of an episode. "Mouthes of women were sewn shut in xxxxx at xxxxx. It last xxxxx years/generations/etc until xxxx. Just an idea.
