The Center works within the Singer community, as well with other dog rescue organizations to aid in the transport of the rescued singers and provide them with veterinary care as needed. We have been a part of some amazing rescues, from the very first two we rescued- Archie and Luxx!!! 🐕 Mingo: being sold at a exotic auction in a dirty crate.. 🐕 Bonnie (now Belle) being sold on Craig’s list with heinous infected teeth (now living in a loving home and an Ambassador for @shywolf_sanctuary 🐕 Livvy and 🐕Melbourne- being sold on an on-line auction on FB...being bid on by exotic breeders- Victoria found a loop hole and we were able to secure their rescue!Livvy had a Conservation litter last year and Melbourne is an Ambassador at Shywolf!!! 🐕 Lyric- just a tiny puppy secured from an exotic breeder, transported across the country with her brother and now living an amazing life!!! 🐕 Titian: 5 moth old puppy...sold by an exotic breeder to someone not prepared for living with a Singer. When I say over and over again that it takes a village... it truly does! Each and every rescue involves the passion and sacrifice of many people who fight to rescue each and every Singer! Unfortunately exotic breeders are having litters that compromise the genetic diversity of the existing singer population. Breeding what they have vs breeding based upon genetic and pedigree pairing. We believe there are only 200-300 of these rare living fossils in the captive population. We don’t know yet if there are any in the wild that can contribute their genetics to keep this population alive!! These guys are thought to be the earliest living link we have between wolves and modern domesticated dogs. They need to be preserved. But how many of you have ever heard of New Guinea Singing dogs? Without education, there can be no conservation! 📷 @dandeliondreamsphoto」7月19日 23時19分 - jabcecc
