busybumblebeebee Children are funny creatures, when they get fixed on how something should be, any changes are not taken well. A change of breakfast cereal can be the end of the world. For those children who love the original Ariel, they are going to be bitterly disappointed when she turns out looking nothing like they expected. That will ruin the film for many children, its just not "right". Kids won't understand political correctness, they will just see it as not Ariel. Im intrigued as to how Disney are going to play the marketing for this in the future because all the merchendise and branding is of the original - will that all change to reflect the new?

elenajaw Like in any story, people get angry when their beloved characters do not look how they are supposed to. I get angry when I read a book and someone is described as having brown hair and in a movie adaptation they have blonde. When you get invested into a story, it is extremely infuriating when it's not done justice in every way. I'm not so invested in the little mermaid, but there are those that are, and this can be very infuriating for them.

And also don't count everyone who is against to the new Ariel as racist because some of them are just hating on Disney the fact the their changing the real story that's it don't @ me cause this is just my opinion

forloveandwildthings I don’t care about the casting. I’m just really tired of damn remakes in general. There are millions of amazing books out there that deserve movies and Hollywood’s over here like “which movie can we remake for the 5th time ??”

ericageeohh Melissa McCarthy needs to go. She’s gonna f*ck up Poor Unfortunate Souls. She doesn’t have the pipes for that song. These remakes have been sh*tting all over the classic songs from the animated versions.
