Ravens are incredible imitators. Many times when you think you hear one animal, it may actually be a common raven making that sound. Ravens have been known to mimic noises made by foxes, coyotes, and wolves to call them over to a carcass so the mammals can break it open and make it easier for the ravens to feed.

ron.churchill We saw a raven in a sanctuary that made sounds like lasers. It was rescued from someone that played video games all day and completely neglected the bird. It was nice to see him being cared for and the sounds he could make were incredible. Some of the ravens in the wild that surrounded the sanctuary also, started to mimic the sounds he was making. 😊
