As a part of our Move Mountains Filmmakers Grant we’re proud to have two award winning directors mentor the grantees. @_elloweezee_ is an award-winning director, former executive producer for @i-D and @VICE who is dedicated to telling powerful stories that foreground marginalized voices. @taylorfreesolo is a documentary filmmaker and photojournalist whose work focuses on climate change, conservation, and human rights advocacy.
Taylor’s advice to filmmakers: “Learning is never ending. If you’re truly dedicated to the art you will be on a learning journey with that process for the rest of your life. Don’t fret too much about getting to a certain place with your skills, or education, or think you need to have a degree or a certain level of experience to just get started. Because you will be right back at the beginning of that cycle over and over again if filmmaking is your passion.” Selected grantees will have the opportunity to attend, network and speak at the inaugural the @wutigoesidyllwild film festival, celebrating trailblazing cinema directed by women, for everyone. Tickets are on sale now.
