This is Grand Master Baik, the founder of Tonga Taekwondo reading his bible. Twenty five years ago he came to Tonga as a missionary and Taekwondo master. He sacrificed his life in Korea to help the people of Tonga and has done so for many years. At 80 years old he still has the energy of someone half his age and continues to apply all of himself to spread the importance of faith and exercise. He is well respected and loved not only in Tonga but in the whole Taekwondo community. Being woken up at 4am to someone so elderly reading away and stretching in the early hours is a surreal experience. After I took this picture he told me that he is tired and wants to go back to his real home in heaven when he gets called back. I looked at him and told him he wasn’t allowed to go until we at bring back an Olympic Gold for Tonga .. he smiled and said, ok - through faith.」7月23日 5時19分
