Tomorrow I will start a two-day trial following my arrest with @extinctionrebellion earlier this year. I was arrested alongside eight other activists while peacefully protesting outside the International Petroleum Week in London. This conference is an annual event in which all the biggest names in the gas and oil industry meet to network and discuss future oil exploration opportunities. Exxon Mobil, BP, Texaco...companies who have spent billions on lobbying and deliberately spreading misinformation campaigns around climate change to confuse the public. Scientists are ringing the alarm bells, telling us fossil fuels must stay in the ground. The IPCC report released last year states clearly that we have just 12 years to limit global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels. This requires rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society, not ‘business as usual’. While tomorrow we will face charges of criminal damage and aggravated trespass for our actions, I can only hope we are standing on the right side of history. 📷:@roxythezoologist

deep.iitm Now, the trial is a farce now given the fact that the whole Europe is facing the hottest day on Earth not because of any world war and not because of any other problems. It is just direct depiction of the Climate change. What one should do is to bring the people who are trying to prosecute you by holding their faces in front of the sun. They will understand the pinning effect of the sun rays?
