Amazing win! But really, this should’ve been a given. Huge live going to #JonStewart and all the advocates for fighting so tirelessly alongside and for these heroic men and women! 9/11 changed our world forever and the people who dedicated their time and their health should be compensated fairly and we should be held accountable to their families and their futures just as we should be for our vets! As a fellow NYer I send my gratitude! 🍎

bradley_harris_st I don’t agree with this. I do agree that they are survivors and really are amazing for being able to survive that tragedy, but just because someone is involved in a tragedy who the attackers had no connection to them at all, doesn’t mean they should get paid for the rest of their lives. Maybe for a year or two after but not forever. I mean, what about the Boston bombing victims? Las Vegas? School shootings? Come on now.

just_brandyce I found it so strange that this was even a topic to discuss. Tax money funds tons of things -- and some of them are far less in the nobility column! How do we even need to talk about whether or not families should still receive funding? I am also glad that it passed but just surprised that it ever had to be thought through.

still_the_real_david_w_nixon You'd have to ask them. That's not my job. It's astounding how money seems to always be found to do wrong things but when it's to do, and I'll use this word correctly...LITTERALLY...the right thing...that the money just can't seem to be found. 'Tis an mystery...

coldnosebeantoes i am so glad to hear this but he should not have had to intervene, it should have just happened. it makes me mad that it took a celebrity and a dying man stepping in to push the senate to do something that is so clearly right.

laurenalysesaul I saw him at the Capitol last week advocating for these heroes!!! So so glad this passed!!❤️ I’m also glad he called them out for not being present
