1990 Bones Brigade tour footage from Tasmania (my first & only trip there) with @buckylasek & @frankiehill1. It was an evolutionary time in skateboarding; the general popularity was waning, street skating was emerging and vert was still progressing but garnered little appreciation. We still couldn’t escape jump ramps though. Of note: Frankie’s kf mute and 540’s galore. Thanks to Jason Carter (?) for the upload & appropriate soundtrack.

I love that even in 140p with no sound and without reading the text, I instantly knew it was Frankie Hill. His style is unique. Such a fantastic skater and one of if *the* first to push the boundaries of going big on drops and handrails. Two pioneers of skateboarding right there 👊

I was at at the one in Martin place Sydney a few years earlier. My bro scored hosois shoe. Brand new leather converse and the toe had worn completely through from one session. It was so fucking sick

Tasmania need u to come back we have come a long way since u were here with skateparks but your interest would spur on local councils to provide more for youth in this state! @tonyhawk

Every aspect of this video gets me emotional for some reason. The skating, the editing, the vhs artifacts, the music - the memories of innocent and fun times.... it's all pure vibe.

This must have been the trip in which he impregnated the mum of Chad Muska that played for us a few years back @bennytaz6 @webbytime7 @iamthethickman

Tassie is a beautiful place. Get yourself there again Tone, particularly the east coast, search Freycinet National Park
