Every time I think about climbing lately my hands start to tingle... I can’t decide if I like it or not. It’s pretty weird. Anyone else??

stevenclaggett That usually only happens to me when I'm really obsessed with a route and work it over and over. Whenever I think about climbing or especially when I visualize the route, my fingers tingle. I think there's an even stronger correlation with super crimpy routes but I've never thought about it too much before. I think it's the nerves preparing to be brutalized on small holds again. Haha

monaoates Its the mind and excitement in the muscles that just want to jump on. But I’m being more careful these days so that I can sustain this sport without major surgeries or breaks. Therefore it is just training for me now, so that I can be stronger mentally and physically.

bmancini10 Hands and feet for me!! 🙌🏽 It's pretty amazing how powerful the brain is...for me its bringing awareness to my body and emotions/nerves, from there I try to use my breath and calm all sensation, so I can focus on the task at hand!!

veedubpat @alexjohnson89 I attributed it to my hands / feet knowing and expecting the pain to come. Not in a bad way, but it IS fairly specific in terms of how things are sore.

athletichobo @alexjohnson89 I started an outdoor gear store and hardly climbed for 2 years. It’s been so fun climbing again, hope you get some rest days/vacation soon!

astridsoutham I have this too - I've been attributing it to a spinal injury I had a few years ago... guess it must be something else
