Today, July 30, marks the UN’s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Human trafficking, a form of Modern Slavery, affects an estimated 40.3 million people around the world. Women and girls make up the most trafficked victims—-trafficked for sexual exploitation and forced labour.
According to the United Nations, human trafficking has reached a 13-year high.
Today, I am proud to be wearing one of the world’s most humanitarian brands, @outlanddenim. Outland Denim employs victims of human trafficking to its production and wash house facilities in Cambodia, and offers them a life changing opportunity with employment benefits and educational opportunities.
Everyday, the good people at #outlanddenim fight to end this global crisis and empower women and girls. I am proud to join them on their mission to shed light on this heart breaking social injustice.
