Spotlight on: Smart Works
We are proud to be supporting a very special initiative this autumn for @SmartWorksCharity!
After quiet visits to Smartworks over the last year, The Duchess was moved by the impactful work being done by this non profit organisation that helps women into the workforce, equipping them with both the skills and clothes they need to feel job-ready.
Throughout her visits she noticed that while the donations were plentiful, they were also notably a combination of mismatched items and colours which weren’t always the right stylistic choices or sizes that didn’t necessarily “suit” the job at hand: to make a woman feel confident and inspired as she walked into her job interview.
As a result, launching this autumn, The Duchess will be supporting a collective to help equip the women of Smart Works with the key workwear essentials they need as they enter into the workplace. This initiative is supported by four generous brands who share the vision to empower the women of Smart Works to look and feel 💯 as they bravely venture in to what can often be a daunting environment for those who have been out of the job market.
The brands have come together to work towards this united force for good, “[reframing] the idea of charity as community,” as The Duchess writes in a piece for this month’s British Vogue. They will follow the 1:1 model where an item from the collection purchased is an item shared with a woman of Smart Works because “not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story; it reminds us we are in it together.” For more information on how you can be part of another woman’s success story visit @smartworkscharity.

Meghan, no one really knows what’s going on behind the scenes, but I hope that you’re raising your voice on behalf of women everywhere to see that the allegations against Prince Andrew will be taken more seriously by the queen and the rest of the royals. It’s discouraging to see that they’re trying to skirt it aside when so many detailed allegations have been made (with evidence to support it). Do they really not care at all about victims of trafficking? It’s heartbreaking.

The royal family has endured thousands of years and will be aokay Meghan or no Meghan. This particular Windsor dynasty has weathered a lot of hardships and survival is their number 1 priority, Not Instagram likes popularity. People often forget that this is a government as well, with all the intrigues of political strategies for power behind the glitz and glamour. The courtiers are the electors in a way and true force behind the crown.

Last question, why is she being portray as a victim again? Its not about her skin color but about what and how she do things. Total disregard to people who are funding her life. Prince Harry, you really should watch the words you use to describe the people who are funding you and wife's(and son!) life. If you wanna be disrespectful, you should leave your royal life and move on to become a commoner with philanthropist dream.

I once donated a ton of nice study big umbrellas I had collected over the years from my places of employment and such to a similar organization, and the woman who worked there was delighted. She told me these types of umbrellas were something women trying to get back into the workforce really need but that people never think to donate them. If you find you have extra umbrellas around, think about donating them!

My dear HRH Duchess Meghan, I am in love with this project and the initiatives that you have come up with! I find them brilliant! I wish every charity had a patron like you!
