kieranisnotlit @dannogoodboy I'm aware that these headphones have multiple speakers per side but that doesn't mean they are surround. There's a reason that studios that mix in 5 or 7.1 use actual speakers instead of surround headphones. The way that surround sound interacts in an environment can't easily be recreated in a very close space. Let me know if you need me to explain anything else, kid.

trellex @dannogoodboy it's all personal personal preference. But it's a flat sound signature - it's used for mixing, so it sounds neutral, has better sound separation and stage, which makes it great for gaming. If people love bass, this isn't for you, but it's not like it's entirely missing it. This is some if my favorite closed back headphones.

kieranisnotlit @dannogoodboy It doesn't make them surround because they can't sound like surround. Yes, technically there are multiple speakers but in such an enclosed space the soundwaves don't have the ability to reflect the same way as if they were in a real room. The reason so many of them exist is because it's a buzzword that consumers like.

dannogoodboy @kieranisnotlit uh, lol you’re wrong. Headphones with surround have multiple speakers in each ear delivering sound at different angles. It does work, I’m just wondering if I need a different type of connection than my Xbox would normally allow. Get your facts straight kid.

dannogoodboy @kieranisnotlit I don’t want room sound in a virtual environment? Besides, I’m not arguing that headphones work better than regular speakers, it’s still surround and adds an edge do your directional audio detection.

dannogoodboy @trellex I used to have the m20X, so the m40s actually feel like they have a ton of bass in comparison. I like having the flat tuning for mixing at home but I didn’t know it was beneficial for gaming too!
