I am beyond excited for the premiere of #TIMELINES, a docu-series by my friend @katiecouric and @SK-II's Official Instagram. She travels the world to sit down with women and discuss expectations. In particular, the disconnect that can exist between expectations and dreams. And through the experience, we get to ask what kind of understanding we might be led to, seeing the vastness of the disconnect between them? How do we navigate the expectations of those who love us? Of our own? How do we move — in this ever evolving world — between the desires and pressures around degrees, careers, family, marriage, sexuality, and our futures? Having watched the episodes, I find myself marinating on big ideas. What does freedom mean to us? To the generation before us? To those coming after? What does writing our own rules look like? How do we take control of our own timelines? I cannot wait for you all to see this, head on to @SK-II's Official Instagram to see more. Society definitely molds us to do.things a certain way or at a certain age!I myself have always tried to create my own timeline 😉 studying and making a career for myself.. not becoming a mother before I was ready to be...and then unfortunately struggling through 5yrs of heartache & infertility which no one ever talks about when planning for futures! Becoming a mom at 39 is amazing but I'm glad I've taken the time to travel, spend time with friends, fall in love and make a career for myself at my own pace 💖 @sophiabush I think you're amazing and such an inspiration and role model! Thank you for letting us see and be a part of that & to have a glimpse into your life,plans,future and dreams 💖

jaylen1118 This is so profound. 🙌🏽💯 Having a daughter and wanting her to grow up in a world that is truly equal, I support this. A device to spread knowledge, true stories & educate all on these topics. We have the power to construct our own timeline. Yes! This looks powerful & inspiring! jessica.d.hudson This is exciting! Not just dreams, but when LIFE clashes with expectations, the manifestation of what you truly deserve on this planet just cannot happen. I've found the only real way to get what you want is to be 100% true to yourself and authentic and comfortable with who you are. I've erased past timelines for myself sub-consciously just coming to that conclusion. The world has taught us to have these expectations and taken us so far away from the moment we are creating five year timelines in relationships etc. We are creating timelines of anxiety... and in doing that we wind up shifting in to that timeline. 💕✨

jessica.d.hudson It's amazing that we are deciding to change our lives the moment we start to realise what other people think does not matter, and with that other people's expectations don't either. We cannot please everyone, and we tend to find that no matter what we do for other people when we are trying to live by their expectations, they are never happy. When you start to live by your own, people start to warm to you and recognise your worth as you are. We are transforming this world, and it's an amazing time to be alive. 💛💛💛

kimberlydemarse This looks amazing but I know it will have me in tears! At 51, I missed all of the normal timelines in constant pursuit of my passion and dream. Without regret! I had to overcome obstacles (as we all do) that threw me off course but on my own, I’ve been able to come back and adjust my timeline as necessary. I’ve never allowed a timeline to clash with my dream and only pray my dream comes true before my timeline expires. I look forward to this and what ideas you have that come from it! 🙏🏻

crissyeliz24 Umm wow! I’m 2 days late in seeing this but WOW! This is super, super important. Coming from a Dominican household I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. It took a long time, but at 31 I am finally beyond proud of who I am and even more proud of not giving into the pressures of my family’s expectation of me. Their dreams are not mine and that’s ok.
