2 MASS SHOOTINGS IN ONE NIGHT?! HOW CAN YOU KEEP SAYING IT’S A PROBLEM?! Anyone not willing to have a conversation for change is complicit! YOU ARE SAYING YOUR RIGHT TO AN ASSAULT RIFLE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE GREATER GOOD. Selfish. All I can do is be vocal, say this is a problem and vote for people who want change. mrs.purcell The "if someone was there with a gun it would have been stopped" agrument is is totally rediculous. This is NOT the movies people. You're in a situation with an active shooter with an ASSUST RIFLE or even a HANDGUN (a gun who's sole purpose is to KILL PEOPLE, btw) and you think you're going to GO TOWARD that??!! Do you have any idea how LOUD that is?? Do you understand the human INSTINCT to LIVE?? And then if against all odds you do do that, you're a good enough MARKSMAN to get a clear shot when the shooter happens to be spraying bullets the other direction, not hit an innocent person running for THEIR LIFE and actually hit the target with all the CHAOS going on around you? Oh and also don't get SHOT by the police when they arrive to do their JOB because you don't exactly have a sign that says "I'm not the bad guy". You're just another dangerous person with a gun, you're now a fair target. Nevermind that all of this happens in SECONDS. Not only does all this have align perfectly, you manage to have the instincts if a Navy Seal and JUMP on it immediately. Sure, I suppose that despite all of that you might get to be the hero. You could also win the lottery. And that's not even accounting for the fact that you likely have another LOVED ONE with you that you want/need to protect and will focus on that instead, as you should. Same is true for a home invasion. Your guns and bullets are supposed to be stored separately and locked. Good luck getting that out in time to stop some dumb dude who just wants your TV. Definitely cause for taking a life. You're FAR more likely to ACCIDENTALLY kill your loved one. Or for someone to get that gun and use it for SUICIDE. Or for your CHILDREN to find it and KILL each other. The realities of the situation are horrific. Zero pro gun arguments make sense it light of what is happening. (Maybe we should start calling it what it is, PRO-DEATH). Where is OUR HUMANITY?

brinkleyallen ..some facilities in Texas have signs that do not allow concealed carry or open carry. I do not live in El Paso. But I’m guessing the location probably had a sign for no concealed carry. I bet if people were allowed to carry in that area it would of been stopped. I have a conceal carry license. I bet you if that happened in my city. I would have stopped it. Guns are NOT the issue. It’s the idiots who misuse them and those who aren’t mentally stable. If you’re drunk and you get in the car. You’re the idiot missing the car and the laws. Not the cars fault it drove off and hit someone. It’s the driver who decided to get in the car drunk and drive off. Same thing with guns. My ex told me that years ago he got drunk, and someone got into his property. He got a handgun and went outside to scare him off. Due to him being an idiot and drunk. He shot the man in the head and killed him. When he told me this. It terrified me. So should we take cars away from good sober drivers?? Should we take guns away from good law abiding citizens like me??

coley_boy Ok so you ban "assault weapons", which already do not exist in the civilian sector. Cool. Now a criminal gets a 50 round magazine for a pistol. Still commits mass murder. Cool. Now you ban guns outright. Law abiding citizens give their guns up and criminals keep their guns and now have free reign over everybody. Congratulations, you solved nothing. Sorry that everyday citizens don't have the money to pay for bodyguards that you inevitably will hire to keep your selfish self safe. I'm all for new legislation and to keep them out of mentally unstable people's hands, but banning them outright? No, absolutely not.

brandyland13 These comments make me want to 🤮. We are heading in the wrong direction people. 2nd amendment or not we NEED to have some sort of reform to end this horror. We are finding ourselves in a civil war that is only fought through social media. That's not ok. Innocent people should not die because of someones mental illness. We should be pouring our tax dollars into mental health and some form of control with guns. I get it , if you want a gun you are going to get one no matter what. mashizzzle How about this for a law: every time a mass shooting happens, NRA and assault rifle manufacturers pay all the medical bills for all the victims, pay for funeral expenses, pay lifetime support to the families who not only lost a loved one but now are left with tremendous burdens financially. Oh and pay for therapy for everyone affected! If they were forced to do that, would they want to change gun safety laws? Why is it that all the gun lovers and NRA and politicians who do nothing can get away with zero consequence every single time?

dukeandcomedia They think abortion is evil and don’t hesitate to make laws against it! I don’t really see a difference here. If a fetus gets the right to life by controlling another persons actions, then I think I should get the same rights as a fully grown, productive member of society🤷🏼‍♀️ Also, I own a gun and I support the right to bear arms, but I’m also smart enough to know that not every dumb ass should have the right to own an assault weapon for any purpose.
