@da1whonox91 @da1whonox91 what about Canada, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand? You’re painting with a very broad brush and not taking into consideration whether these are developed nations which could be truly comparable to our own. Comparing China and Venezuela to the US is like comparing apples lettuce and sausage: Yes, they’re all food, but they have little else in common politically, monetarily, or historically. Interesting fact on the drum, though I’m not sure those being illegal “did” anything, unless that’s your point. I don’t care about losing my “right” to a gun — it’s a ridiculous and outdated amendment that has no business in the 21st century. Yes, people kill people, but not giving those insane people access to machines that can be used to kill significantly more people in less time than, say, a kitchen knife, makes good, logical sense. I think the fear you have of the government is relatively unfounded. While I think that women and people of color should have particular concern where loss of rights are involved, I think removing guns from the hands of the population at large would do more to improve their safety than to hinder it. Perhaps if we only gave guns to women..?

@da1whonox91 I’m good. I’ve handled guns, shot guns, taken gun safety courses... I derive no pleasure and have no personal interest. We have the highest rate of gun ownership in the world — more than one for every man, woman, and child in this country — the populous collectively own more guns than the US military. So we should be the safest developed nation in the world, right? But we aren’t: We instead have the highest rate of gun violence and death by firearm in the developed world. As someone who works with numbers for a living, I gotta say, the numbers don’t lie here. More guns don’t make sense — it never has — and it’s time to try another way. If the country falls into Gillead, I’ll eat my words with fervor. In the meantime, I don’t want to have a panic attack every time I put my children on the school bus, or run Saturday errands, or go to a concert with friends, etc., etc. If it’s allowing everyone open-carry of military-grade machinery — which is where things are headed and basically what the good guy/bad guy with a gun NRA argument is steering things — or no guns at all, I would obviously enthusiastically choose the latter.

@lizethchavra ha too late. Really? Don’t reproduce? Ok? Invasion was the correct term with over 1 million entering the country by the end of this year. Do you ever look up number and facts while conducting your own research or do you just believe everything you see and hear right off the bat? I think it’s extremely moronic of you to blame everything on trump and not blame Obama for a single mass shooting that happened several times under his watch. You just started this Trump@hatred within the last few years because it was a trend. You know absolutely nothing but your opinion and the opinion of like minded individuals as yourself and are extremely closed minded. I bet you haven’t seen one interview of a veteran border patrol agent talking about how bad it is down there at the moment. They’re quick to tell you it’s because of the Democratic Rhetoric, not trump. As to why Mexico is doing more to secure the border right now than Democrats. Jesus do you pay attention?

@lizethchavra as for the shooter, I don’t think he wrote that manifesto himself. You’re also contradicting yourself. Are you blaming racism or guns? What are the numbers of mass shootings that were fueled by racism compared to the number of law biding second amendment gun owners who have never committed a crime? How many gun laws do you think we have on the books already? Do you know about these red flag laws Trump is attempting to put in place? Do you know anything? Ha your opinion doesn’t count. Also how many white people were shot in El Paso? Do you know? I’ll give you it’s not a right or a left matter but the Dayton shooter was a supporter of Bernie, Warren and Antifa. Please tell me you’re aware of what Antifa does and please attempt to show me how their rhetoric is not dangerous.

What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the chandelier. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting: I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris, by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years; she's never taken another lover. I don't care, I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier.
