We are using one of the most powerful, unifying forces in our society – football ⚽ – to start the biggest ever conversation on mental health.
#HeadsUp, a collaboration between the Football Association and @Heads_Together, will show the world of football that our mental health is just as important as our physical health, and that we all need to take care of our everyday mental fitness, and provide support to one another when we face setbacks, so we can be match fit for whatever lies ahead.
Today’s FA Community Shield match between @リヴァプールFC 🔴 and @マンチェスター・シティFC 🔵 kicked off the #HeadsUp campaign and a season of activities which will strive to raise awareness, spark conversation and signpost support for those in need.
Before today’s match, two community choirs – iChoir from Liverpool and Bee Vocal from Manchester – both created to support mental wellbeing and to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health, sang the clubs’ anthems, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Blue Moon’, which both refer to themes of isolation and the importance of togetherness.

I LOVE that they are being proactive instead of blaming Mental Illness when we have mass shootings in USA 🇺🇸 where is our proactive approach? It isn’t in our Health Care since we don’t offer one. William will be an amazing King 👑 and Kate will be a beautiful and actively smart Queen 👑. Think I might buy a one way ticket to England 🏴

Being an American, it's good to know I'm not the only one who suffers from mental health problems. I'm happy to see that England is addressing this issue as well. Depression feels like you're drowning...you can't come up for air. Godspeed all! ❤️
