@talibkweli I'ma be real here brotha, let's weigh the industry this way okay... How many women that rap that sell the societal ideology of female empowerment by selling songs glorifying their bodies versus females that actually are true born bred emcees... You know this as well as anyone because you're a veteran of this music industry... And the ones who are selling major records are talking to women all over the world about their bodies being their power over people... Those are the ones the industry is using at this point to sell the idea that if your body is a certain type that you have to be that way to have it all... Now be that as it may we've seen this since the emergence of mid 90s female rappers like Kim, Fox, Sole, Amil, and others that laid this platform for these kind of artist that have mimicked them over the past two decades... But now it seems it's okay for them to do this because the industry has cleared this as a general ideal to create women who think that vagina is power... Which in some case it does have it's own power, but in the generalized fashion it's being used look around you Kwa and tell me this hasn't created two generated cycles of women in this world to fade into self prostitution... And the women that laid the foundational bricks for them to exist won't and don't think this is okay by a long shot. I myself used to wonder what and why women who are the mothers of this world were allowed to disrespect their own personal regions to make a dollar but sacrifice their personal integrity(if they ever even had it) to get rich then talk down on women for being this way when they created the ideal format to even do that in the first place. It's a sad reality we live in when women like, Jean Grey, Bahamadia, and countless other female emcees won't do stuff like that because they're truly gifted artists and don't get the shine they deserve, maybe a bit of notoriety because of their skill set, but they're not selling the idea that vagina is power... This is a reinforced idea that's been drilled into the minds of these young women so they believe that it's okay to do that which publicly reinforces the idea to any young female artist that you

@talibkweli have to sell your vaginal space to make it... You can only name a few I'd be willing to bet that have a marginalized space to be called true emcees that don't glorify the idea that selling their vaginal region in their music, even if they lightly speak on it which in certain cases is okay... But the ones that go full on are the biggest acts out... That's a poetic injustice. Now think if we had more females that talked about how hard it is to be a woman today in this topsy turvy world of rap for them how many females would voice their opinions on it... Now I do get it that the industry gonna do what they feel to keep the mass public brain dead to this, but the female artists that are awakened and know this will never get the true recognition for their work until they sell their vaginal region to get the dollar. To me it's no better than being a prostitute walking a strip to get it that way because it reinforces an ideal that it's okay to do that.. Empowerment for them is standing against that ideology and repping the truth of their plight in this world which is their unfair treatment by whore mongering men that run the same industry you're a part of.. I am one of those female rappers that raps about the things other than 🐱. I might have 1 or 2 in an album but even then they're done in a thoughtful way and used to trigger thoughts. You can find me on Spotify and other platforms under - V Don Dada. I try to raise awareness about social issues and write all of my material. But that stuff is not "sexy" to the media or radio stations. Rap from day one has been an extension of poetry yet what's played out there are adult nursery rhymes. We exist. We are here. We don't have huge platforms but you stumble across us its magic. I am here. I Am V. Peace and love to you all 🐾

I think he was talkin bout the mainstream female rappers being carbon copies and not the Rapsody's that are out there that don't get any airplay or shine in the mainstream, just like when folks talk about today's rap being wack they're mostly talkin bout mumble rappers and not the Kendricks,J.Cole,Dave East,Meek Mills. U had the Lol Kim,Foxxy and Trina that talked about sex but u also had a Eve,Missy,Remy,RahDigga,Queen L,Bohamadia,Lauryn Hill that didn't use sex as their main thing. U had a variety to choose from

Exactly. I like her, I just don’t why her thoughts matter in this particular case. But I was told she does do some rapping but I don’t consider her an emcee. 🤷🏽♂️ also, did JD day that CURRENTLY, all women rappers are talking about the same thing. Which is soo true. With those exceptions. They makin it sound like he said all women mc’s EVER, rapped about the same thing. Which is dumb to even say that. Which he didn’t...right?

Straddle the fence response She get no credit for this. I understand that she doesn’t want to bring any negative views from fans or other artists but her statements holds no weight. The bitches and I said that in the essence of the definition subjugate women and their mental physical and emotional value to society for a dollar. From a Manaj to Cardi to these ratchets that are out now the female lyricist is in hibernation.
