I don’t tend to get political on social media or speak out often because it somehow always brings negative attention and no matter what I say, it’s never enough or I’m criticized for it. But my friend @carasantana inspired me yesterday and an 11 year old inspired her. Rubin Martinez, an young boy in El Paso, challenged everyone to 22 acts of kindness (no act too big or too small) in honor of the 22 lives taken this weekend in El Paso and Dayton (another 9 lives taken). These acts won’t change gun control, take Trump out of office, or stop racism in our country.. but maybe, just maybe they will help someone smile today. Imagine a city where everyone is just randomly being kind to each other.. expecting nothing in return. I can’t even describe how special this morning was.. more on my stories! #ElPasoChallenge #payitforward ❤️

Well done. Sad that we have to be reminded to reach out and look out for one another when there is such incredible tragedy. Yet nice to see everyone embracing one another in different ways. Fingers crossed we make that change this time around. (It has been a long time since columbine. I know there have been others, columbine was pretty significant)
Unity is community and community is unit❤️. Doesn’t matter where we live, big city or out in the hinterland, we all need to feel we are here together on this place called earth❤️🌎❤️. So keep up the good work in spreading that love dust around❤️

@weworewhat As an “influencer” you also set the standard. You have a platform and are more likely criticized if you don’t say anything. People like you need to speak up and stop hiding behind brand names and should visibly be giving back to the community. Sadly, this is why I have had to unfollow your blog 5 times in a year because of the lack of substance, culture and diversity in your content. #truth

@weworewhat love this! I’m a 5th grade teacher and at the beginning of every year, I read the book “One” by Kathryn Otoshi and spread the message, “It takes ONE person to make or break your day.” It makes a huge difference and sets the tone for the year. Everyone can do a little something...it’s always easy to be kind; maybe not when ppl are not to you, but we have to, “Be the change...”

Thanks for sharing your good actions. Somehow we think we are not supposed to show them on camera but it is OK to show endless fashion, skin care, brands.... what a moral... thanks for inspire others to do it. This is the content social media urges

maybe if more influential people like yourself “got political” and didn’t take the criticism WE ALL GET as an “attack” then we’d have a world where challenges that are to make “people smile because of a mass shooting” wouldn’t be necessary 🤷🏻♀️
