Coming back home has allowed me to connect to my community in so many ways! .

As I developed my new line Hope for Flowers @hopeforflowersbytracyreese I wanted to also connect with Detroit Public Schools connecting students to the arts. The current superintendent is working hard to make sure each Detroit Public school has at least one art teacher which sadly has not been the case for the last decade. As a young student, art was a wonderful creative outlet for me and I believe every young person deserves the same opportunities. .

At Duke Ellington School, we discussed how prints are designed for clothing. Students painted patterns they designed on canvas totes. The students really came up with some amazing ideas. .
