It stretches across the banks of Sumida River(#隅田川), and has been known as a cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period (16003 – 1867). . About 510 cherry blossom trees of different kinds are planted by the river. From the Tembo-hiroba Square(#展望広場) in the central area of the park, you can see Tokyo Skytree right in front of you. Sakura-bashi Bridge(#桜橋), which spans across the river, is perfect for a romantic night walk. . Seasonal events are held at Sumida Park throughout the year.
