The light in my life is gone. —
I could write a novel with hundreds of pages of things I love(d) about Reggie. It was love at first sight when we saw him at the Greyhound adoption centre, but I had no idea just how much my heart would expand to love that boy. After his racing days (breaks my heart that this is still legal in some places) it was time to teach him what it was like to have a family and to be loved unconditionally. Teach him that everything was going to be okay and that he’s safe and doesn’t need to worry about anything besides snoozing, snacking and snuggling on the sofa. Helping him come out of his shell was one of the greatest privileges of my life. —
As devastated as I am to have lost my best friend (I genuinely can’t imagine my life without him), I am so touched by the legacy he has left. Reggie inspired hundreds of other Greyhounds to be adopted with the help of YOU. They are the most loving and wonderful creatures. I remember when we adopted Reggie the woman called greyhounds “love sponges” because they just soak it alllllll in. Everyone adored him and he was stopped constantly on his walks by his adoring fans (strangers who just wanted to pet him so bad!). I want to remember the years filled with happiness and laughs instead of the ache in my heart that I feel right now. —
He spent his last day with his parents 💕 He ate pancakes and bacon and ice-cream. He went to his favourite park and we took a lovely afternoon nap together. Lots of tears. Lots of telling him how much he means to us. And of course, we sang him his favourite “peanut butter song” one last time. I’ll love you forever Reggie and I’ll miss you every single day until we meet again. —

Hi, I am so sorry to hear about your boy, your love sponge & couch potato! I am one of many here in Ireland fighting the cause for greyhounds to ban racing & coursing. Many of our Irish dogs are ending up in countries with no animal welfare standards, not to mention laws. I would dearly love to make contact with you as every little bit of help we can get is nudging is further towards the finish line. It is VERY current in Ireland right now after a recent television exposé into the Irish greyhound industry and we need help to keep it current and to keep the momentum up. I’m not sure how to contact you other than here...

I just came across your page on you tube and had to look you up to share my Greyhound’s picture to send you. Am devastated to see this, so sorry for your loss. Reggie seemed like such a sweet boy and as a fellow crazy Greyhound lady- I completely understand the obsession with this beautiful, unique yet strange creatures. My husband’s mom passed away suddenly almost 2 years ago & we inherited her Greyhound Craig- had him for 1.5 years then osteo got him this February. So devastating so, please hang in there and know that Reggie will always be with you ❤️🐕.

In time when you are ready I truly believe the best way you can honor Reggie’s life is to take the love you showered on him and put it on another grey longing to know what Reggie learned that being loved beats racing any day. You will know when your heart is ready.

This breaks my heart Estee💞. I’ve followed your channel since the beginning and Reggie has been such an important part of it. Having lost a dog myself, I can relate. The happy memories will keep him always near you ✨ - will miss that beautiful snout 🐽

I'm so sorry for your loss Estee. Losing our furbabies is never easy. I lost my Cosmo to cancer at the beginning of the year and I miss him dearly. But you gave Reggie so much love and affection. RIP Reggie -- We're all here for you! <3
