“The “Rich Paul Rule” is racist. So what are Black people, particularly athletes, going to do about it? Here’s a suggestion. And for the record, I didn’t go to an HBCU but my parents, brother, many other family members and many colleagues did. Already an integral part of Black empowerment, HBCUs could become MUCH stronger!” 🔁 @chrisbroussard68 #ncaa #hbcu #blackathletes

It is racist. When you create a rule/law that disproportionately gives advantage to a particular class of people and puts another class at an obvious disadvantage - that’s racism. To now say that you need a university degree to be an agent for NCAA players screens out a lot of minorities who cannot afford the tuition or may not even be in a position to qualify to enter a university, due to all of the barriers that come with being of a particular socio-economic class.

Funding of HBCUS is not the major problem; management culture is, I see HBCUS like Affrica, the white man left it alone many years ago but they just can't succeed even after pumping millions of dollars to resuscitate it, they just don't work. It is a Black man problem. I prefer my child go to a school where he has more opportunities of finding a decent job, white or black school don't matter.

I totally agree. The HBCU’s are one of most valuable assets to the Black community. But the resources are not there to support, so we as a people and community must find a way or lose another important part of our identity, culture, sisterhood and brotherhood. There is nothing like an HBCU, nothing.

The players have so much power to change the trajectory of the NCAA. But most of them are just using it as gateway to their professional careers. Once the players start saying no to certain things, then the NCAA will change their ways
