Having a New York minute...thank you @todayshow for allowing me the opportunity to continue telling my story. Normalizing this kind of conversation is a step forward in ensuring that a future generation of kids can be a bit safer in this world. One more time for the people in the back, consent starts with a “yes”, it’s not about waiting until you get a “no”!

@dollydooos I think that comment is a little misguided or ill informed. There was a lot that actually was out of my control, and it doesn’t matter what led up to that moment, it matters more that another person still took away my safety and control over my body. As for these young kids, I’m working to help inform and educate everyone, which will hopefully lead to a safer work environment for all involved!

@dollydooos Thank you ever so for giving me your permission to scroll by your comment in an open forum. Obviously, if you hadn't posted before me I couldn't have responded to you, now could I? Unless your IG acct is set to Private, everyone can see your comments and decide for themselves whether to scroll on by, or respond to you. What are you afraid of, anyway?

@dollydooos - all of this was entirely preventable. She was attending a skating camp in which fellow athletes including John Coughlin were in attendance. So they had a party...with underage drinking. The question I have is where was the ADULT supervision? This was a USFSA organized camp with coaches - it would seem to me that they should be held accountable as well.

@ashwagner2010 You were a minor. End of discussion. An adult knows better. Thank you for having the courage to speak out. Even if it wasn’t right when it happened. Again you were a minor. Not everyone knows exactly what to do in any given moment. Courage to speak is really a hard thing to do. Especially against someone you really like. Thank you for helping.

@alexa_skates011 That actually is EXACTLY what I did. I speak with parents, have worked closely with my federation and have consulted with coaches. So please, do a bit more research before you claim that I “failed miserably”, because in my mind I am at least doing something and getting everyone involved 💁🏼♀️

I really admire the bravery you've shown, putting yourself out there and telling a difficult story so publicly. Thank you for setting aside fear of judgement in order to draw attention to an intolerable problem. Hopefully people will take courage from you and step out and do the same.
