Saudi Aramco said in its first ever call with investors that it’s ready to go public — it just depends on when the company’s owner, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, gives it the go ahead.
Sources say the kingdom could allow the oil company to issue stock as soon as 2020 in what is expected to be the largest new issue ever.
But Saudi Aramco faces a tough market, with oil prices volatile and near 2019 lows. They are still the world’s top oil producer, but their reported first-half net income fell 12% to $46.9 billion. By comparison, Apple, the world’s most profitable listed company, made $31.5 billion in the first 6 months of its financial year.
